Messes I'll miss in 10 years

When I got home on Thursday night Britnee and Cody had their weekend hut all set up.
Matthew had to work all weekend and it wasn't in the way so we left it up until they got ready for bed tonight.
The kids watched movies, played games and Jaycee even had her friends "hang out" in it for awhile.
I'm going to miss messes like this someday. When they are too old for huts and such. Until then, I'll just close my eyes to the mess and let em be kids.

Britnee Boo's New Do

Britnee's hair has been growing for quite a while now so that she could donate it to Locks of Love. She's done really well until lately. Brit's tender head wasn't loving the brush every morning.
Solution: our great friend Amy who agreed to cut it and fix it really cute for her.

The end result is a darling hair cut and 7 1/2 inches of hair on it's way to help others in need.
She's pretty excited about this new do. And her mom is pretty proud of her dedication in growing her hair for such a great cause.

BFF's

The other day Cody was down visiting Grandpa Rusty. As they were wrestling around Cody said:
"Grandpa, you're my BFF."
And bless my dad and his lack of acronym knowledge asked:
"Uh, You're best flippin' friend?"
The kids have thought that to be so funny that it's been the new thing. We're all best flippin' friends at our house. :)

Run to Payson

This weekend we took a flying trip to Payson to see Matt's grandpa in the hospital. He had open heart surgery on Tuesday. He looks really good and will probably go home in the next day or two.
We stayed at Matt's brother Brady's house. They put a door on a shed he's building and then we came home.
It was a pretty short trip but it was good to go down and see everyone.

Puppy Love

So we've had our little Chelsey for a month now. We didn't know much about dogs when she came to live with us and we are still in the early stages of learning, but so far I have learned a few things about raising kids that I've accidentally learned by having a puppy.
* You have to talk nice to them or they won't mind you. Even if you've been outside for 20 minutes in just your robe, at night, crawling around under the porch and thinking murderous thoughts.
*The more you show that you love them, the better they respond when you have to get after them.
*Yelling doesn't work. (But oh how I wish it did sometimes.)
*Kids and dogs are smarter than we sometimes give them credit for.
* And the one thing that I struggle with daily, patience...patience...patience...

Bright Sunny Snow Day

Yesterday the kids got to invite friends over and play on the sleds. Jaycee had her friend Kaitlyn Farmer, Britnee invited Skylee Walentine, and Cody invited Sabron Farmer. (Cody and Sabe spent most of their time inside building things with legos.)
Jaycee was our official driver and had to dodge a few bare spots on the road but they had a lot of fun playing outside.

Decorating by Cody

When we were putting Christmas away Cody's dad told him that he needed to put his guns up high so that no little kids could get them. Well, they've been in his closet until last night when he just couldn't stand not seeing them all the time. He asked if I could get them down, I helped him and then went to fix dinner. When I came into the front room a few minutes later, he had a new home for his guns and ammo. He looked so proud of himself that when he asked, I let him leave them there, for now anyway.
What better way to welcome people into our home than with weapons?!?!
