Lagoon - What Fun Is!

Candice invited us to go with them to Lagoon this summer. Jaycee had girls camp so she didn't go with us, but Britnee and Cody were maniacs. They rode rides all day.

Bombora was this years newest ride. It's not a thrill ride, instead, it's more of a family friendly roller coaster but that didn't stop us from riding it over and over.

We left the park at about 9:30 that night. Everybody was really tired but we had so much fun that we validated our passes and planned our Bounceback day on the way home.

So the next Monday, everybody loaded up and we went back for more Lagoon fun. This time we took Jaycee with us. AS we walked in, she swore that she wasn't getting on anything scary. We played at Lagoona Beach for part of the day and then went to ride more rides.

Somehow Candice talked Jaycee into go on the two thrill roller coasters. As we stood in line, Jaycee didn't say too much, and Britnee said even less. They were both troopers though and climbed right on both rides. They got off Wicked with great big grins on their faces and decided to go again.

We came home sunburned and tired, but we had a great time. Lagoon is definitely what fun is!

My Newest Garden Project

Each winter I plan in my head all the wonderful things I'm going to do as soon as it gets warm outside. For the past couple of years I've battled with the problem of not liking my front porch. Somehow, it just didn't seem as welcoming as I wanted it to be. One day, while I was sitting dreaming, I had an epiphany of just how to change things up.

I ripped up the rocks around one of my flower gardens and ran a hose to connect the two gardens along the front of the house.

Then I killed all the grass inside my hose line and started hauling topsoil. Luckily, I had enough rock to line the new garden.

I realized then that the garden was really wide and would be hard to weed and plant, so I stomped a path through the middle of it, added a few scoops of pea gravel, some stepping rocks and Viola! easy reaching.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with my front garden. It's been fun planting new things and having more flower room.
Matthew keeps telling me that I should not get this excited about dirt!

Spring Has Arrived!!

Wow! Spring sure took it's sweet time in coming this year. It didn't seem to stick around long either. Leaving, it seems, within days.

But I'm so happy that it came. And with it, the beautiful blossoms on the trees. I love to go out and find buds, then tiny flowers, and then leaves. It seems to signify that life goes on and that even after a long hard winter, the warmth comes, even if it takes til the middle of June.

What a lesson in patience this year has been, and what a beautiful reward for the endurance.

Matt's New & Improved Truck

Matt has been wanting a standard transmission for a couple of years now. We looked into trading our truck in on something different but he decided that he could just buy a standard and trade out the transmissions himself. (Because that's a fairly simple job, right!?!)

Matt ordered his transmission and it came around the end of March. It took him about 10 days off and on, to change everything out and get the truck put back together. This man has the most amazing ability to take something all apart and then put it back together just the way it goes. WOW!

Cody was his little grease monkey who got into tight places and helped grab parts and tools.

The truck is all fixed and runs better than it ever has. Matt and Cody worked really hard and should be proud of our new and improved truck.

Mark & Son & Grandson

Because Matt had to work over Memorial Weekend, we decided to go to Emery County this weekend for a visit.
There wasn't too much going on which was just fine. The weather was warm and we were able to just relax.
Mark had a dirt work job to do so Matt and Cody spent a few hours playing in the dirt with him.

One morning we went out on the desert to some old homesteads to try out our metal detector. We only found old wire and a couple of buttons but it was really fun to go out and look.

We visited with Grandpa Clyde and Grandma Jo. I got to drink lots of Pepsi and read a good book. The kids got to play and we just had a good ol' time being together.
