Cody is growing up just like his daddy~saying things like they are in as few words as possible. As I was cleaning out his backpack on the last day of school, I found the last few papers he wrote.

I like being a boy because you don't have to wear all that make up and a dress. If you do that you are just wasting time.

My Opinion is About the S.W.T. (I think he means S.W.A.T. team.)

First of all, I think the S.W.T. is fantastic because they get to carry a pistol and a machine gun.
Next, they get called on a mission to ride on a hellocoppter and go to a different country to save people's life.
Then, they knock down doors and shoot the bad guys to free the people.
The S.W.T. is happy the people are free and their is a lot of dead people on the ground.

Yep, that pretty much sums it up!!

Onward & Upward

This has been quite a week for us. Matthew has been in Rock Springs for his last round of schooling there. He got his welding certificate in April and will journey out at the end of September. Britnee said good bye to Paris Elementary in Friday, and on Tuesday night, Jaycee had her Promotion Ceremony to advance to high school.

Matt obviously couldn't be there but Grandma Sony and I went over to cheer her on.


There were 77 others that "graduated" the same night. On Thursday, the entire 8th grade got to go to Lagoon for their end of year field trip.

I've often heard that middle school was made in hell by the devil, and if you can survive it, you can survive anything. Well, it's been quite a journey for Jaycee. Not only did she survive, she conquered. I can't wait for all her adventures in high school, for Brit's adventure's in middle school, and for Matt to finally be done with school-again!

Great job my favorite grads!!!

"Britnee Bueller's" Day Off

I love the Pirates series. (Anyone surprised??) So when Pirates 4 came out, I knew we needed to have a movie field trip. I invited anyone who wanted a day off to plan on going with me. Since Jaycee, Cody, and Matt don't love Pirates and could care less, Britnee was my taker.

On Tuesday morning Britnee and I headed for Logan. I took the car into the shop for a new windshield so we were on foot. We walked to the bead store and made jewelery, ate Chinese food, and shopped at the mall. Brit's highlight for the day was to get her some "sophisticated glasses". She was all sorts of excited to wear them around.

We enjoyed the movie in 3D, ate our kid combo of popcorn and Pepsi, then walked back, got our car and came home. What a great day off with one of my four favorite people!

The Assassination at the Annual Superhero Assembly

The Assassination at the Annual Superhero Assembly was held this year on Friday, May 13. It was so fun to dress up like super hero's and play this game.

We ate super burgers, super salad, super appetizers, and had super turtle sundae's for dessert. Matt's character was Stingmata, mine was Shiver. Amy played the Red Wonder and Rich was Nerdon.

Candice played Electra, Brook played the Blue Blaze, Scott was Mr. Fabulous and Ashley was the Wisher. Our pictures ended up not turning out, these are some of the few we saved, but other than that, it was a great Cinco de Mayo game night.

Jaycee's Wisdom

Jaycee has had this mirror in her room since she was a year old. She uses it to do her hair and in the past year or so, she's been using it to write little notes to herself. I love going into her room and reading the wisdom that Jaycee has at 13. What a little inspiration she is!!

Handmade with Love

This years Mother's Day was quiet and peaceful. Matt worked nights so he slept all day and the kids played quietly. For dinner they all helped me make my favorite~candied ham and mashed potatoes.

My youngest two are still making me Mother's Day gifts which are my very favorite. Cody made a card, a handprint poem, and a paper telling me all the things he would do for me on Mother's Day. Bless his heart, he did come help me for a long time on Saturday afternoon in the garden.

Britnee had been learning to crochet lately so from her I got a beautiful washcloth and a picture drawn of all our favorite Harry Potter characters.

I loved each one of my Mother's Day gifts. I know that before too long, there won't be anymore handmade cards and presents wrapped in tissue paper. I loved the service that all the kids gave in helping with dinner. I love that even though Matthew slept through Mother's Day, that he has a job and works so hard for our family. What a great Mother's Day!

Dondee and the Gang

This week Dondee came down for her very first visit. She brought her three boys and her sister Malorie with her new baby. They got here late Monday night and stayed until Friday morning.

The weather was very warm but on Tuesday we got all bundled up and drove around the lake. The kids thought it was great to see and the pelicans and ducks floating on North Beach. They got out and ran up and down the wet sand.

On Wednesday Dondee, Malorie, and I went shopping in Logan. We ate lunch at The Olive Garden and did some major damage in a couple of my favorite stores. When we got home, we took everyone to Garden City to the pool for a couple hours.

On Thursday we went down to the church and did mani/pedi's while the boys played basketball in the gym. My kids got to each miss a couple days of school so we all got a chance to visit.
The week was pretty laid back, (which is just how we planned it) and was over far to quickly. We had so much fun just kickin' back and visiting.

The Only Girl In The World

Today was Brit's big dance recital. She decided at the first of the year that she wanted to try dancing so we got her involved with the Bear Lake Dance Academy in Garden City.

The dance that her class learned was called "The Only Girl in the World." Brit danced her little heart out and I was so proud of all the effort and energy she put into her dancing.


Of course the pictures of the actual dance were fuzzy but the teacher allowed the girls to add some personality and we could tell that they were just having fun up there. Go Britnee!!

Branding Calves 2011

This years branding was pretty crazy. For several years now it's been an annual thing for our family to go down on the last weekend of April and brand calves with Lyman.

This year however, we woke up to snow on branding day. After a week of beautiful warm weather, the mud dried out enough that the branding was back on. Timing was working against though as Britnee had a dance recital at 11 that morning.

So Matthew and I played divide and conquer. He took Cody and branded while Jaycee and I got Britnee ready for her recital. I did get to go down and visit long enough to get pictures and say hi.
Cody had the best seat in the house, on top of a fence, looking down at everything. I'm sad that we couldn't do everything together as a family, but I'm so glad that Matt and Cody were able to do what they loved, and that I was able to catch at least a glimpse of their fun.

Our Week with Wyatt

This week my sisters son, Wyatt, stayed with us. The week started off great as all the kids were home to play. Cody had almost as much fun having someone to play with as Wyatt did. Their pass times included jumping on the trampoline, lego's, wrestling, and playing the Wii.
On Monday morning however, everything got really slow and boring for Wyatt. Aunt Tara wasn't nearly as entertaining as Cody. So I spent the week being creative. Wyatt loved getting in the bath each morning. He would play until the water got cold. Then we would eat breakfast and watch a little morning cartoons. He's got a fun imagination and played really good while he followed me around.

On Wednesday I planned a big day for us. We headed over to town to run errands and play at the play-place in Arctic Circle. As we pulled in, I looked back to see that Wyatt had gotten a little too comfortable in his car seat. So, instead, I went to the drive through and adjusted his seat so he could sleep more comfortable.
Jaycee, Britnee, and Cody all pitched in and helped take care of Wyatt. It was a good learning experience for all of us.

Wyatt's dad came to get him this morning. I was happy for him as he really loves his daddy. It's kinda funny though, how fast something goes from "Wow! what do I do with a pre-schooler?" to a new normal.
We're gonna miss little Wyatt and his never ending questions. It's way too quiet. But I'm glad we could be a halfway house for him for awhile. What a character!!
